Our function, purpose and culture come out of our relationship with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and secondly with each other.

Our Christian lives will be ones that impact our world. We will do this by being bold in our faith – believing that what God says is true and acting on that truth, our character being one of generosity – God designed life to be of the nature of giving and as such we will demonstrate His plans, purposes and Kingdom by giving our life away for His Glory; following the greatest commandment by Love – loving God with everything within us and our neighbour as ourselves.

WORSHIP

Worship is a response from the heart. Genuine worship, like love can never be enforced by command. God wants it to be the expressions of a heart touched by His Spirit.

Worship is an offering. We bring ourselves. We give what no one else can give: our time, our love, our voices, and our hearts. As we worship, we offer something of priceless vlaue that actually brings God pleasure.

Worship is an encounter. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had an amazing relationship with God. Adam talked with God and could sense when He was around. Since this relationship is now damaged through our disobedience to God, God has made provision, through His Son, for a new relationship.

LOVE

In accordance with Matthew 22:37-39 our love will grow and become all God intended.

³⁷Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38″This is the first and great commandment.
³⁹“And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself’…”

GIVING

We believe that God is our source and our provider. The standard of generosity was set in the Old Testament by Abraham who gave a ‘tithe of all’ (Genesis 14:18-20) and was confirmed and extended to a greater level as described in the New Testament (Hebrews 7:8-10 and 2 Corinthians 9:6-15). We believe in tithes as a minimum and then offerings as determined in 2 Corinthians 9:7.

¹⁸Then Melchizedek King of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.
¹⁹And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;

Hebrews 7:8-10
⁸Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives.
⁹Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak,

2 Corinthians 9:6-15
⁶But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
⁷So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
⁸And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
⁹As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”
¹⁰Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,

SERVING

As described in Romans 12:3-21 we believe each of us has a call to servc the other in accordance with the gifts, skills and abilities God has given us.

Romans 12:3-21
³For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
⁴For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,
⁵so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and invididually members of one another.
⁶Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;
⁷or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;
⁸he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
⁹Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
¹⁰Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honour giving preference to one another;
¹¹not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
¹²rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
¹³distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
¹⁴Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
¹⁵Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
¹⁶Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

¹⁹Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
²⁰Therefore “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink’ for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
²¹Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
